Rakiura Lights

Rakiura Lights was commissioned by Sharon Joy Vogan for her compilation album 'Suite Aotearoa' which is being recorded and published in score form in 2023.
Rakiura Lights was inspired by long summer sunsets on Rakiura (Stewart Island), New Zealand. Rakiura is also known for its dark sky and wonderful views of the night sky and occasional auroras, or 'Southern lights'. A bird call also makes an appearance in the music.
